Operator Guide

This guide walks you through everything you need to do to list and manage motorcycle tours on Travel-Riders — from registration to receiving your first booking. For details on handling bookings day-to-day, see the guide to handling bookings.

1. Getting Started — Registration

To register as a tour operator, go to /register-tour-operator and provide:

  • Business name
  • NIF (tax identification number)
  • Contact email and phone number
  • Business address
  • A short description of your operation

After submitting the registration form, you are redirected to your Dashboard. At this stage you can set up your profile and create tour drafts, but publishing tours requires account approval (see section 3).

2. Setting Up Your Profile

From Dashboard → Profile, complete your public operator profile:

  • Logo — square image, 300×300 px recommended, displayed on tour cards and your profile page
  • Hero image — wide landscape image, 1920×800 px recommended, displayed at the top of your public profile
  • About — a description of your company, experience, and what makes your tours special

Once you are happy with your profile, submit it for review. Your profile must be submitted before Travel-Riders can approve your account.

3. Account Approval

After you submit your profile, Travel-Riders reviews your operator account. You will receive an email when your account is approved. Once approved, you can publish tours immediately — there is no per-tour review step.

4. Connecting Your Stripe Account

You must connect a Stripe account to Travel-Riders before your tours can be published. This is required so that booking payments can be transferred directly to you. Travel-Riders uses Stripe Connect destination charges — you receive your payout minus the agreed platform fee, on Stripe's standard payout schedule.

5. Creating a Tour

Go to Dashboard → My Tours → Create Tour (or navigate to /create-tour). Fill in:

  • Title and descriptions — a short card description and a full long-form description
  • Start and end dates
  • Countries — the starting country and any additional countries visited
  • Daily itinerary — a title and description for each day of the tour
  • Highlights — key selling points of the tour
  • What's included / not included
  • Requirements — minimum experience level, required license category, etc.
  • Difficulty level
  • Capacity — maximum number of rider (pilot) seats and pillion seats
  • Room pricing — one or more accommodation options, each with a rider price and (optionally) a pillion price
  • Images — a small card thumbnail, a large hero banner, and any gallery images

Tours are saved as drafts. You can return to edit them at any time from Dashboard → My Tours.

6. Publishing a Tour

Once your account is approved, use the Publish toggle on any draft tour in My Tours to make it live. Published tours are immediately visible on the platform and available for booking. You can unpublish a tour at any time.

If a tour is fully booked, use the Sold Out toggle. This hides the booking button while keeping the tour listing visible to browsers.

7. Managing Bookings

All booking requests and their statuses appear in Dashboard → Bookings & Assignments. You can view customer profiles, accept or decline bookings, and manage cancellations from there.

8. Messaging Customers

Access the Messages section from the top navigation menu. You can start or join conversations with customers in the context of a specific tour or booking. New message notifications appear as a badge on your profile icon.

9. Getting Paid

Payouts are handled automatically by Stripe Connect. When a customer completes a payment (deposit or final balance), Stripe transfers your share directly to your connected bank account. The platform fee is deducted automatically — you do not need to invoice Travel-Riders separately.

Payout timing depends on your Stripe Connect account settings and your country's standard bank transfer times (typically 2–7 business days after the payment is confirmed).
